Manteca - Augmented Indifference
Another recent Manteca album today, this time an EP from a few years ago. I adore that third track, which really feels like a modern take on their 80s sound specifically. Also love this quote on the Bandcamp page:
A few albums ago, we discussed the idea of giving the Bass Clarinet a solo and the soloist (who shall go unnamed*) said; “…not sure you want to do that –that’s serious moose territory”. Actually, a Moose like solo would make bass clarinet the ultimate Canadian jazz woodwind instrument.
