yan - Plus Minus
This was a very lucky chance find the other day. I'd previously played the second album on here, but that one's available on Youtube and I wasnt sure I'd ever stumble into the first. Well, lo and behold, I happen to find a physical CD shortly afterward!
This is very much in the same vein as the other album; it's gentle electronic music, VGM-adjacent and very much on the relaxing side. (A friend compared it to the Ragnarok Online soundtrack.)
Since it's not available online I don't have much to link to, but there are earlier versions of a few of these songs on yan's website. Versions of こねこしょったこあれんじ, Weather information#2 and 宇宙の向こう are all on that page. The "Weather information#2" track is particularly charming; I share the genuine appreciation for that kind of "functional" music that doesn't always get appreciated as music. I imagine it must have been very fun getting into the headspace to reproduce that kind of sound.
