Yasuaki Shimizu - Dementos
I'm a big fan of Yasuaki Shimizu's new wave period. You can hear a lot of Talking Heads here, but his influences are a lot more wide-ranging than just that and there's a lot of the very 80s sort of world music influence going on. Adore this album.
Unfortunately, I don't have this one on physical media, though I'd love to. The original CD and vinyl are expensive, and the reissue from a few years ago was a pricey deluxe edition. Maybe a western label will pick it up, or maybe I'll just stumble into a lucky find someday. At least it's available to buy on international download music stores.
